Local landscape designer Troy Martin from ENTICEscapes has cleverly created a low maintenance entertaining paradise that compliments the lifestyle of these home owners in Adelaide's suburb of Golden Grove.
For many of us with little time on our hands its nice to be able to come home to a garden that looks after itself. ENTICEscapes has used a range of architectural plants to create interest and style with a beautiful flowering Strelitzia potted in a low bowl as a central feature.
Throughout the garden the planting is layered. Under planting with species such as Mondo grass and Liriope's helps create a softer and more natural feel to what is really prominently a paved landscape. Courtyard gardens always face the problem of limited space however Troy's design has not wasted a square metre. To the home owners delight they have a low maintenance garden with plenty of usable space for the family without the compromise to style and natural beauty.
Three corten steel laser cut screens are the crown jewel to this design and feature prominently from the main living area on a rendered wall at the back of the property. After a long day at the office the home owners are delighted that they can still enjoy their garden after dark. Weatherproof strip lighting at the base of the metal artwork has been used to create a vivid glow beautifully illuminating the panels. Troy has also used LED Outdoor's 3W spike lights to highlight the planting along the back fence ultimately helping to create depth to the design and feeling of space to this courtyard garden.
