The traditional facade on this coastal house opens up to a beautifully designed residence by Wilks Building Group. We had the pleasure of lighting the space, combining form and function to create a lovely, liveable home.
Beginning at the entrance - the Lofoten Wall Light on either side of the front door enhances the classic style of the home while adding a modern twist. The living room is uplit by Rec Wall Lights, making the room appear bigger and lighting up the whole area without glare.
Downlights such as the Switch and Titanium Starlight by Unios are placed sparingly to highlight art, bounce light off the bathroom mirror and illuminate the outdoor dining area.
RBW fittings are used throughout to great effect. The Crisp Sconce in the bathroom adds ambience as well as functional light, while the diamond texture on their Print Pendants provides immediate visual interest and drama to the entryway.
The star of the show in the newly renovated kitchen is Mito Volo by Occhio. Visually subtle but technically intricate, Mito Volo is height adjustable and shines in both vertical directions - the perfect piece for task lighting as well as ambient lighting.
Strip light is so versatile, and it is used here in multiple applications. Providing safety along the stairway, task lighting over the stovetop, and even setting the mood in the sauna, there’s nothing we can’t illuminate with our Luna Mini strip light.
The creativity in this lighting design showcases the building’s classic architecture, and enhances the hard work that has been put into making this house a home.
